1. Indexing your site

APB Search first runs Search Indexer program which stores data from your site in a special index file. Depending on the size of your site, this file can become very large. Sometimes it may take up to 40% of your entire web site, so be sure there is enough space to spare. The file must be updated often, or it will become unsynchronized with your web pages and provide inaccurate results. Fortunately, APB Search let's you easily update your index file.

Indexing of your site is done in four steps. In the first step, you enter a few variables including absolute path to the root directory of your web site. In the second step, the Search Indexer crawls through your directory structure and lists all directories. In the third step, you select which files you wish to include in index. In the last step, script creates index file and displays list of all included files.
